Bilateral Meetings
- 07.12.2012 Friday (3:00 - 5.00)
E-GLAS was founded in 2009. by a group of scientists at the Science and Technology Park of the University of Rijeka. The primary reason for starting E-GLAS was to merge our technical skills with our ideals of helping people. We formed a highly educated team of experts in the fields of information and communication technologies, digital signal processing, speech recognition and synthesis, acoustics, electronics and automation. Our main product is Servus, a voice controlled home automation system that was created for all the persons that are living in difficult conditions due to physical disability, old age, illness or disability in general. We created Servus to change their lives for better.
Servus is an electronic assistant which enables users to control their home through voice commands. Having Servus, one can literally talk with his home and thus control lights, TV, telephone, door opening, radio, heating, air conditioning, make an emergency call or even surf the web. With Servus, all these functions are performed completely hands-free. More information on Servus can be found at www.servus-control.com. Servus is intended for people with disabilities and the elderly and infirm, but also for those who are looking for a maximum comfort in their home. Servus currently supports Croatian, Slovenian, English, German, Italian and Dutch, with additional languages being prepared. We target the markets of the EU countries, USA and Canada.

Financing for market expansion
E-GLAS is looking for strategic investors for market expansion financing.
Our target market consists primarily of people with physical disabilities and the elderly and infirm, as well as the institutions that care for them (retirement homes, rehabilitation centers…). We aim at the EU countries, the USA and Canada. In these countries, the assistive technology market is increasing mainly due to the relatively wealthy and ever-growing elderly population. Also, a number of European Union countries subsidize aids for persons with disabilities encouraging them to live independently in their homes. In these countries there are approximately 1 million severely physically disabled persons and 40 million elderly and infirm persons that could significantly benefit from Servus. These persons are physically very frail, but with normal speech and cognitive abilities that allow normal use of Servus. Also, supporting a range of smart home standards, Servus has a great potential in the smart home market as wll, becoming a speech interface for existing smart home systems.
Our business model is based on two kinds of partners: Servus installation partners and channel partners. Channel partners are crucial to generating sales and do not have to be technically keen since the installation of Servus and technical support is done by Servus installation partners. Installation partners are coordinated by a Regional Service Center (RSC). RSC is a company trained and certified by E-GLAS to give support to installers and coordinate technical support for Servus in a given territory. The focus will be mainly on international Internet marketing, with localized Servus websites based on national top level domains, social media marketing, and search engine marketing. The revenue generation will be based on the two supported models: 1) The end user is buying the system, i.e. paying the whole price of the system. 2) The end user is renting the system, i.e. paying a monthly fee while using the system.
